Just now when I was playing (level 2.2, I think), I tried to hit a crate-building that was a fair distance away from the vent. Even though I had the target right on, the vent exploded and I didn't get my crate. Is this because the effect radius for the early levels is greater than later levels, or do they all have a really big area that can blow them up? Either way, perhaps the area could be shrunken down a little bit so I can still get crates without blowing the platform?
Of course, if this is a variable that you have already tested extensively, Chris, and felt that this was the best state, then I'd trust that. I guess it may need to be a big area in later levels when you have a need for speed.
Very cool how the dropship now changes color with your ship.
One old thing - If my shield ever runs out and I'm left with plain old armor, I have never been able to beat a level. It has seemed like almost a useless feature; you may as well be dead to save time. However I just now noticed that when I grabbed a crate my shield came back. Does this happen with all crates? I think the feature (of still living with no shields) may be worth it if every single crate both restored the shields and gave money, but you could probably do just as well to take it out. In later levels, you'll (meaning "I'll") never be able to grab a crate with no shields, practically all of the platforms are too well defended.
Btw, the "Main Menu" button on the "Try Again" screen doesn't take you to the main menu, it takes you to the map (which I only recognized as wrong since the map also had a button "Main Menu"). But I guess this is small enough not to matter. If you are going to change it, maybe it could be something like "View Map"?
As for the cross-hair moving too far away from the ship, I'm not so sure that's completely fixed. It was perfect for the first part of the game, but after I upgraded to full speed and acceleration, my cross-hair would still reach the edge of the screen (which makes it useless, since then you can't see ahead). One time on level 2.1, in the upper part of the screen, my altidude exceeded 450, and the cross-hair was completely off the screen. I know it may be less realistic, but I don't think anyone would notice if you gave the cross hair a reasonable maximum distance.
Sometimes when I'm farming for money, I find the Mission Sucess scene kinda redundant. D'ya think maybe the player can click to skip it? Or would that just rush the scene changes, since people would probably do it every time...
Also, still got the screen-skipping bug.
Plus, something happened in the second to last mission. Its always really close for me, and this one time I hit the dropship just as I lost (I heard the victory music for about 1/2 a second). I got the try again screen, but on a hunch I quit to the main menu, and I had access to the last level.
But, the final cutscene repeating bug didn't happen when I beat it this time. Nice touch moving the last cutscene after the credits.
